Romantic Hluboká nad Vltavou Château is one of the most beautiful historic buildings in the Czech Republic. It stands on the site of a Renaissance château that replaced a Gothic stronghold.
The present château dates from the 19th century and is the work of Prince Johann Adolf Schwarzenberg, who tore down the original structure and had a romantic-style structure built, modelled on the Tudor Gothic of Windsor Castle in the United Kingdom.
